Listen to Obituary

It is with profound love and immeasurable sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished sister, Elizabeth Annette (Beth) Harvey, who departed peacefully on April 12, 2026, at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with cancer.

While the traditional obituary recounts achievements and dates, those details pale in comparison to the enduring spirit of Beth. She was not just a person who lived; she was a force who LOVED, completely and unconditionally. Our hearts are broken, yet they are also overflowing with the memory of a woman who was, quite simply, the best of us.

A Love Language Spoken in Full

Beth didn't just have a family; she built a universe of affection around us.

For those of us lucky enough to call her "sister," she was the keeper of our childhood secrets, the first responder to every crisis (big or small), and the one who could communicate an entire conversation with just a single, well-placed look. She navigated life with a rare blend of strength, and an almost superhuman capacity for empathy. She made every gathering brighter, every crisis manageable, and every ordinary moment feel like a cherished memory in the making.

The Legacy of Her Presence

Beth’s impact wasn't measured in titles or accolades, but in the countless small acts of love that defined her daily life:

● The care she took to make sure “you were OK and didn’t need anything” was part of her daily routine.

● Her love of her cherished corgi, Maddie Lee, her sidekick (and the love she gave to her other fur babies in the family).

● Her work at University of Penn - New Bolton Center, where she worked with such pride and commitment for 47 years.

United in Grief and Love

Beth is survived by her brother, Ed Harvey (wife, Linda); her sister Gail (husband, Jim). She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Arlene Harvey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Beth by performing an act of unexpected kindness today, or by making a donation in her name to your favorite charity.

Though our world is undeniably dimmer without her, we take comfort in knowing that her love remains permanently stitched into the fabric of our lives. We will carry her with us, always.

Service and interment will be private.
