Cheryl Anne Sedlak

Cheryl Anne Sedlak, age 79, of West Grove, PA passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 31, 2026, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. Cheryl was the oldest daughter of the late Edward and Julia (Krilowicz) Sedlak.

Cheryl was born in Philadelphia, PA, on April 21, 1947. She went to Kennett High School and attended the Mental Health Addiction Programs at St. Joseph University.

Cheryl worked in many professions throughout her life, a school bus driver and Acme Markets to name a couple, but most notably, she was counselor at Bowling Green addiction treatment facility in Kennett Square, PA. She also was the coach of the Kennett Girls Softball Team back in the late 60's and early 70's.

Cheryl was a member of Assumption BVM Church in West Grove, PA. She served as a cantor at many of the area churches.

Cheryl enjoyed the Phillies and Eagles sport teams. She frequently went to yard sales where she would find the perfect gift for someone in her family or a special friend. She enjoyed gardening, watching classic movies, and daily prayers with her loved pet cat, Smokee McGee.

She will be remembered for her generosity, for always having candy with her and offering it to whomever she met... for maintaining good spirits throughout her battle with cancer... She was the life of the party and had many sayings. "See you in the funnies, I love you more, I'm bigger." Cheryl loved music and would often break out in song at birthday celebrations, and family or friends gatherings.

Cheryl is survived by her siblings, Richard Sedlak (Kristine), Patricia Force, Ronald Sedlak (Kathleen), Jacqualynn Stout (Edward), Margaret Nason (Ray), and James Sedlak (Barbara A.). Cheryl had no children but was affectionately known as Mommy Cheryl to Terri Antonine and her children. She is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her partner, Helen “Kathy” Shore and her siblings, Edward Sedlak Jr. and Barbara Jean Satterfield.

You are invited to visit with Cheryl’s family and friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately.
