Cynthia Engle

Cynthia W. Engle, age 87, passed away on February 13, 2023, at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA.  Born in Clayton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late, James Winner and the late, Mildred Kindle Winner.  In addition, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald LaVerne Engle (Vern) in 2006.

Cynthia graduated from Albright College where she met her husband, Vern.  They lived most of their married lives in Kennett Square where they raised their two boys, Chuck and Steve.  Cynthia worked as a Home Economics Teacher at Avon Grove Middle School for 24 years and retired in 1994.

Cynthia was very active at the Kennett Area Senior Center where she was in the book club for many years.  She also loved her many pets and enjoyed working with the service dogs at Canine Partners for Life.  She was a member of Unionville Presbyterian Church, Unionville, PA.

Cynthia is survived by her son, Ronald Charles ("Chuck") Engle (Linda) of Downingtown, PA; by two grandchildren, Lauren Engle Bailey (Patrick) and Keith Engle (Brittany); and by five great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Reagan, Broderick, Elliot, and Eleanor.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Cynthia is predeceased by her sister, Charlotte Farscht and her son, Steve Engle.

You are invited to visit with Cynthia's family and friends from 11:00am to 11:30am on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Ware Presbyterian's Vista Ridge Auditorium, 1162 Kensington Lane, Oxford, PA 19363.  A celebration of Cynthia's life will start at 11:30am with a luncheon to follow.  Interment will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Canine Partners for Life, P.
