Daniel Shacklett, aged 35, passed on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He was the son of Diane Pazdalski and the late William E. Shacklett. Besides his mother and stepfather, Jon Pazdalski, Daniel is survived by his brother. He is predeceased by his stepfather, Russell Marino with whom he had a unique bond.

Daniel was full of surprises starting with coming into this world a month premature to having his life ending unexpectedly as a young man.

He was a quiet person, but when he spoke it was always something profound or unexpected.

Daniel tap danced and tumbled in shows as a young child. He surprised us by whistling to Santa with a missing tooth. He juggled with ease. He was ornery in a funny way.

He was quite an overachiever. In little League Daniel pitched a perfect game that even the older boys stopped to watch. Through this admiration and respect his perfectionism was awarded as an all-star pitcher. He was also an outstanding soccer player. He won numerous awards in scouts achieving his Eagle Scout award at only the age of 16.

He loved playing video games and was always in sync with his brother. The brothers also bonded over the game Warhammer. In high school, he started the Warhammer Club. He hiked almost every day on trails through wooded areas.

He bonded with both of his stepfathers; with Russ it was humor. His efforts to save Russ’s life were remarkable. With Jon it was projects for which he offered advice on a different way of doing things. He thought outside of the box.

Daniel was a graduate of Unionville High School. He received a Video Game Design and Simulation degree from DeVry University where he was on the Dean’s List every semester.

He worked multiple jobs in his short adult life as he searched for his niche.

Daniel is loved and will be missed every day by his family.
