Dennis Lee Clark, age 86, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 24, 2026, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA after a short illness. He was the husband of Carolyn Clark, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Lewiston, PA, he was the son of the late Edward Clark Jr. and the late Ellen (Peters) Clark.

Dennis graduated from Claymont High School. He met Carolyn during their senior year, and the high school sweethearts married in 1961. Together they created a home full of love and joy where they raised their two children. Throughout the years, the rooms of that home echoed with the sounds of laughter from the many guests whom they welcomed with open arms.

After high school, Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later in the Army reserves. He also attended the University of Delaware. Dennis spent a large part of his working career with Hercules, Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware as a Plastics Technologist. Committed to providing his children with the best educational opportunities, he supplemented his income by working a variety of side jobs including fine jewelry and clock sales, hardware store management, and house painting.

Throughout his life, Dennis served others. His humble way of caring for all with empathy and compassion made a positive impact upon countless lives. As a volunteer, he spent time assisting both children and adults with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. He also served as a senior victim advocate in the Delaware courts. In recognition of his contributions, Dennis received the Delaware State Senior Volunteer of the Year award in 2000. After relocating to West Grove, PA, Dennis contributed to his new community by volunteering in the Avon Grove School District. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Villages of Penn Ridge, where he and Carolyn resided.

Dennis was always happiest when he was outdoors. He was a prolific gardener of both flowers and vegetables. He spent many happy summer days surf fishing in Ocean City, New Jersey. He was also an avid camper and enjoyed visiting Trap Pond State Park with his son, Stephen. A lover of all animals, Dennis had a special place in his heart for Golden Retrievers.

Most importantly, Dennis was a dedicated family man who was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. A fiercely proud Grandpa, he spent many happy times attending the grandkids’ sporting events, joined in the stands by Carolyn, Wendi, and Stephen.

He will be remembered most for his humble kindness. Never a man to seek the spotlight, he was a quiet supporter for all those who needed him. Whether he was adopting stray cats, saving baby rabbits, comforting a bereaved friend, or clearing snow for a neighbor; he made the world a better place.

He will be missed for the twinkle in his eye, his great sense of humor, and his unwavering support for those he loved.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dr. Wendi Lee Clark (Douglas Ford) and Stephen Clark (Hua Shan); his grandchildren, Jeffrey and Ava; and his sisters, Elaine Mowery and Cynthia Mann. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Gordon Clark and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Foltz.
