Elsie Buck

     Elsie (Gross) Buck, age 91, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 22, 2024, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. She was the spouse of William Buck, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of William Gross and Frieda (Gaiser) Gross.  

  Elsie and her husband, Bill lived for over 60 years in West Deptford, New Jersey. They raised their sons there and had many friends and community connections   

  In her life, Elsie worked as a crossing guard for West Deptford school district.  It was a job she enjoyed and was committed to for many years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, bicycling, swimming, traveling, doing crafts, spending time with the grandchildren, and listening to Pavarotti, Bocelli, and other tenors.   

  Elsie will be remembered for her love of family and friends, singing the special Chi Chi’s song at all the birthdays, her love of dressing up at Halloween, her affection for dogs, and her delicious German spaetzle noodles.    

  Elsie is survived by her sons, William Buck (Margaret) and Ron Buck (Julie)her grandchildren, Jeffrey Buck, Christy Killips, and Caroline Buck; and one sister, Martha Klingbeil.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Edward Gross, William Gross, and Charlie Gross; and one grandson, Ted Buck.   

  Service and interment will be held privately.
