George Victor Starr

George Victor Starr, age 97, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. He was the husband of Nancy Jones Starr, with whom he shared 74 years of marriage. Born in Llewellyn, PA, he was the son of the late George Starr and the late Della Ney Starr.

George graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 1951 and earned his Master of Science in Education from Pennsylvania State University.

He served our country in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He was a high school math teacher at Kennett High School retiring in 1986 after 31 years .

He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the mountains of Pennsylvania, golf, and tending to his vegetable garden.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by one son, David Starr and his wife, Nancy A. Starr of Earleville, MD; his sister, Ruth Love and her husband, Gerry Love of Dahinda, IL; and his granddaughter, Anna Starr of Manayunk, PA.

Services and Interment will be held privately. Contributions in his memory may be made to The Kennett Library kennettlibrary.org/donate or a charity of your choosing.
