Hester M. Mack

Hester Marie (Lomax) Mack, age 65, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 18,2026, at Twin Pines Nursing Home in West Grove, PA. She was the spouse of the late Sherman Mack, with whom she shared 21 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, PA, she was the daughter of the late Yvonne Lomax.

Hester worked for a number of years at West Chester University as a dietary aid. She also worked for a few years at the YMCA in West Grove.

In her spare time, she enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, hanging out with her sister, Lucy, drinking beer, and watching cowboy movies.

She will be remembered for her wise remarks and comments to others. She did not bite her tongue. Hester basically voiced what was on her mind whether you liked it or not. She was a no-nonsense person.

Hester is survived by her son, Dwayne Lomax; grandson, William Lomax; sister, Martha Lomax; one aunt, Emma Lomax Mobley (Cortez) and one uncle, Sherwood Lomax, all of West Grove, PA; and a host of cousins and friends.  In addition to her mother and husband, she was predeceased by two siblings, Norman and Lucy Lomax; one aunt, Beulah Lomax, four uncles Walkie, Jimmy,Albert, Sherman Lomax.

You are invited to visit with Hester’s family and friends from 5:00 – 6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Star of Bethlehem U.A.M.E. Church, 215 West Summit Avenue, West Grove, PA 19390. Her funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM. Interment will be held privately.

The family would like to thank the staff at Twin Pines in Chatham, PA, for the care thatHester received over the last eight years as a resident.
