Katira Lynn Wilson Dobbins

Katira Lynn Wilson Dobbins, 29, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 19, 2025, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, surrounded by her family, partner, and friends. Born on July 31, 1995, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Katira was the daughter of Shelagh Wilson and David R. Dobbins Jr.

Katira was a learner, seeker, and world traveler. After graduating from Westtown School, she attended Elon University, earning degrees in both Religious Studies and Sport & Event Management.

She had a quiet passion for understanding people, ideas, and places beyond her own experiences. She was dedicated to social justice and worked to educate others. She was profoundly committed to her convictions, including those about the Harry Potter books, women’s sports, and Bravo TV. Katira was brilliant, creative, funny, charming, empathetic, athletic, genuine, humble, passionate, adventurous, kind, and fierce—she loved fiercely, competed fiercely, believed fiercely, and faced challenges fiercely. 

Katira had an immense impact on those around her, bringing positive energy and spirit to every situation. Often described as the life of the party, she was a bright light who was deeply treasured. The loss of this beautiful soul leaves an immense void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Katira is survived by a large and loving family. Katira’s partner, Jordan Martin, was the love of her life and her sister, Malinda, was her lifelong rock, champion, and best friend.

All are invited to a Quaker memorial service to honor Katira’s life on October 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Quaker Meeting House at Westtown School, 215 Friends Meeting Lane, West Chester, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Unite for Her at https://uniteforher.org/donate/
