Marvin Ziss

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Marvin Ziss, who left us on August 19, 2026, at the age of 94. He resided in Wilmington, DE, at the time of his death. Marvin was born and raised in Newark, NJ, and lived in Maplewood, NJ, and Landenberg, PA, before moving to Wilmington in 2019.

He leaves behind his wife of 71 years, Sharyn Ziss; daughter, Audrey Bath, and son, Jonathan S. Ziss (Victoria Loeb Ziss);  and two granddaughters, Hanna Sophia (Sophy) Ziss and Simone Ziss. He is also survived by his sister, Arlene Nudelman, as well as eight nieces and nephews.

His passion for automobiles and motorcycles was legendary. He began riding motorcycles in his twenties and continued to ride every day, well into his nineties. He was also known for his immense sense of humor. No occasion was too somber for him to crack a joke. (He regularly continued to amuse people, especially strangers, until his death.) Marvin was also a gifted illustrator and amateur cartoonist.)

As per our father’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
