Patricia Ann (Johnson) DeFazio, age 75, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 26, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of James Michael DeFazio, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Martin V. Johnson and the late Yolanda (DeFilippo) Johnson.
Patti was employed by Chas. F. Smith and Son after graduating from Kennett High School in 1969. In 1976 Patti and Mike established their metal fabricating business M & P Custom Design until retirement in 2021.
Patti was a charter member of Longwood Rotary and served as first secretary for 11 years. For her many acts of service to the community, she was named Rotarian of the Year in 2007.
She was a devout member of St. Patrick’s Church in Kennett Square, where she could be found most Sundays in the 4th row of pews on St. Mary's side with her husband Mike. Patti never missed church until she was physically unable to attend.
In her spare time, Patti enjoyed reading and going on cruises with her husband and friends. She also had a permanent commitment between 3-4 pm every day, in which everyone knew not to call, so she could watch General Hospital. She also loved her cats and grand pups and is survived by Sammy, Winnie, and Duke at home.
Patti will be remembered for her bright smile, generous heart, unique dance moves, and sometimes mischievous sense of humor. Also, her very clean home, which she vacuumed almost every day. She loved her friends and family fiercely and enjoyed talking on the phone with those both near and far.
She will be missed for her advice- whether you wanted it or not; her cooking- especially her rice pudding and eggplant parmesan; and her commitment and support to her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Jamie Guiberson (Dave) and Laura DeFazio; her grandchildren, Andrew, Nick, and Matthew Guiberson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Stevie Johnson.
You are invited to visit with Patti’s family and friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, November 2, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Her Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at Longwood Cemetery, 945 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
