Sharon E. Hannan

Sharon (Dwyer) Hannan of West Grove, PA, passed away on August 16, 2026, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE, surrounded by family, after an unexpected medical event on Aug 15, 2026, at the age of 66.

Sharon was born on September 3, 1959, in Cherryhill, NJ, the daughter of Miriam Dwyer and the late Francis Dwyer. Sharon faithfully lived out her vocation as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, MeeMee, and a caregiver to many.

She dedicated her life to God, her family, and her community. Sharon was a stay at home mother who cared for her four children, later in life she was an aide at Assumption BVM School, Director of Religious Education at Assumption BVM Parish, and a Caregiver at Visiting Angels. Sharon’s favorite pastimes were photography, specifically taking pictures of nature, bird watching, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a deep love for her Faith and always wanted to make people smile and laugh.

Sharon married Thomas Hannan (preceded in death) on May 22, 1982, and they built a life together for 42 years. Together, they raised four children, Megan Hardy (Nicholas), Kevin Hannan, Leah DiPersio (George), and Brighid Sydenstricker (Barry). Sharon was a proud MeeMee of 10 grandchildren: Olivia, Liam, Addie, Lexi, Cody, Emery, Eli, Aria (preceded in death), Avery, and Arlo. They brought her immense joy and will carry forward her legacy of faith, kindness, and love for nature.

She is survived by her mother, Miriam Dwyer; her siblings, Tim Dwyer, Sheila Galvis, Sean Dwyer, and Colleen Dwyer; her loving children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family, including those who shared a special connection with her throughout her life.

You are invited to visit with Sharon’s family and friends from 10:00-11:00AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 300 State Street, West Grove, PA 19390. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 460 North Union Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
