Thomas Alan Schwendeman, age 95, of Oxford, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 2, 2025, at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA. He was the husband of Frances (Kinsey) Schwendeman, with whom he shared over 73 years of marriage. Born in Newark, DE, he was the son of Irvin Schwendeman and Phoebe (Malin) Schwendeman.

Tom spent 30 years working for the Bell Telephone Company. After retiring, he drove a school bus for the Kennett School District and spent time driving commercial tour buses.

He served our country in the Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of Kennett Square Presbyterian Church and the East Lynn Grange.

In his spare time, he was an avid and skilled bowler. He also enjoyed playing the drums and ping pong.

Tom and his wife, Fleecie, (nobody calls her Frances) enjoyed vacationing in their camper. They traveled all over the country, including Alaska.

He will be missed for his commitment to constantly tinkering, repairing or modifying some mechanical device, and of course, for his lifelong devotion to his wife.

He will be remembered for his fanatical devotion to the Phillies, even before they were good.

Tom had four siblings that predeceased him: Ruth, Charles, Margaret, and Anne.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ralph A. Schwendeman & his wife, Susan Latimer, Diane S. Pesce & her husband, Joe Pesce, and Robert J. Schwendeman; his grandchildren, Daniel Schwendeman, Kelly Schwendeman, Alex Schwendeman, Derek Schwendeman & his wife, Kiersten Schwendeman, Nicole Fragale & her husband, Joe Fragale, and Lisa Pesce; and his great-grandchildren, Stella Schwendeman, Roman Fragale, Beckett Schwendeman, and Archer Schwendeman.

His family is also grateful for the excellent care he received from the Ware Presbyterian Senior Living facility personnel in his latter years and the Willow Tree Hospice staff in his final weeks.
