Valerie Harris

Valerie Harris (nee Beam), 75 years old, June 14, 1951 – June 29, 2026, of Kennett Square, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones after a 3-year battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald Harris. Loving mother of Ronald Harris II (Lainy) and Philip Harris (Mandie) and proud grandmother to Maya and Emmie Rose. Val was born in Springfield, PA and was the daughter of the late Connie Beam. Preceded in death by her older brother Clifton Beam III (Claire).

Valerie dedicated 39 years of her life working at the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District as a Food Service Manager to ensure all the kids and staff were fed and taken care of. After “retirement”, she worked at the family-owned luncheonette, Archies, with her husband for 10 years, where she enjoyed talking to friends, making connections and catching up on the local news. Val was dedicated to her work and taking care of others. She loved listening to music and spending time with family and friends at the beach in Ocean City, MD.

Val will be remembered for her amazing strength and fortitude right up until the end. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will live on in those who loved her.

You are invited to visit with Valerie's family and friends from 9:30 - 11:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Willowdale Chapel, 675 Unionville Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Her life celebration memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
